PORT FC vs WILDCATS
PORT FC coach Mick Brown is impressed with what he’s seen from his side in the opening three rounds of the Football Mid North Coast Premier League.
Heading in to Saturday’s clash at Tuffins Lane with Taree Wildcats, although FC currently sit in seventh position, it is within striking distance of the top four despite a difficult start to the season.
“We’ve only played three games but they’ve been against who I believe will be three of the top sides in the competition so we’re going okay to have three points from three games,” Brown said.
“Hopefully we’ll get something out of the game this weekend because we’ve got another tough couple of games in the following couple of weeks.”
Brown said his side had started the season better than last year which gave cause for optimism for the season ahead.
The coach is still looking for the best position to play new signing Troy Hearfield.
“Troy’s played a couple of spots mainly in the midfield, but we have to find the best spot for him,” Brown said.
“But as a team we don’t want to rely on him either.”
Dakota Stafford returns from suspension to add some starch in the middle of the park, although FC will lose Ben Foulis from the side that went down 4-2 to Camden Haven.
“We don’t have to change too much from last week because I thought we were a bit unlucky,” Brown said.
