NEEDS SUPPORT: The Bulldogs have been unable to capitalise on the attacking opportunities created by Terence Seu Seu.Kurri Kurri Bulldogs receive a huge boost this week for their game against reigning premiers Lakes Unitedin the form of giant forward Mick Campton who is returning from suspension.
Campton was suspended during the trial games and has missed the first three games of the Newcastle Rugby League season.
“He’s chomping at the bit to play and he probably owes us a bit for missing the first three games through an indiscretion,” Bulldogs coach Phil Williams said.
His return is a welcome with Peter Croninunlikely to play again this week as the result of complications from concussion suffered in the match against Maitland.
Ben Wyborn and Joel McCann return to the line up after missing last week to attend awedding.
But the Bulldogs will be withoutNathan Campbell and Daniel French, who are both sidelined with injury.
Williams said he was pleased with the team’s energy and effort in defence last week, but they were still only running at 70 per cent in attack.
“Terence Seu Seu has been our best player the last two weeks and creating lots of attacking opportunities, but we’re not supporting him, not taking advantage of his hard work,” Williams said.
“One of our big problems is that our completion rates have been poor.
“We’ve dropped ball in attacking positions and released the pressure and lost it in our own half, which good teams take advantage of.
“It’s hard to concentrate and complete sets for the full 80 minutes, but that’s what separates the good teams from the rest.”
