Set in the 1920’s,The Ghost Train is a comedy suspense thriller which follows six passengers who are stranded for the night ata Cornwall railway stationwhen they miss their connecting train.
Despite being told of the supernatural happenings emanating from an accident twenty years before and now a local legend of horror, the passengers refuse to leave.
It is raining,the night is dark and the roads dangerous, the station master who has warned them leaves, declaring he would never spend a night on Fal Vale station.
Strange incidents occur and the tension escalates. A mysterious woman appears seeking safety from pursuers. They hear a whistle in the distance. Is it The Ghost Train? Come and find out.
Written in 1923, the play has been performed many times all over the world. The Ghost Trainhas been a feature film in the UK and Hollywood. It became the forerunner of a certain genre of film –a group of passengers flung together on a train, think of The Lady Vanishes or Murder on the Orient Express.
The show will run for a series of evening and matinee performances from May 28 to June 5 atThe Players Theatre, Meroo Street, Bomaderry.
