Run over a mile (1600 metres), the Cup attracts prize money totalling $25,000.
Last year, the race was won by Heyson trained by Wayne Carroll from Wagga and ridden by J. Kissick.
The race was sponsored by long time supporter of the Parkes Jockey Club, Telescope Tyres.
This year the race will be sponsored by the Parkes Services Club.
They are sponsoring two races, the Gold Cup and the Satellite Handicap.
Members of the Parkes Services Club will receive free entry to the course for the Sunday meeting.
It is a full TAB meeting with eight races on the program.
If previous years are any indication, the club will receive large nominations for the event.
On course facilities include full bar and TAB, while the local Quota ladies will provide a delicious luncheon and snacks.
There will also be a barrista coffee van on site.
The races attract high quality horses, trainers and jockeys.
The Parkes track is considered one of the better tracks in the area and has the second longest straight in the western districts, only pipped at the post by Warren.
