A LOCAL video game store has been successful in reaching its fundraising goal for Starlight Children’s Foundation.

Once a year EB Games stores across Australia raise funds for the foundation, which aims to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families.

The Port Lincoln store has been able to reach its fundraising target each year it has participated and this year was no exception as it reached its target of $918 last week.

Customers had the option to make a donation when making a purchase in the store and would receive a goody bag after making one.

Store manager Tricia Davidson said each year she had witnessed the generoisty that was displayed by the Port Lincoln community.

“It’s unbelievable to see the effort the stores go to but also the effort the town goes to itself,” she said.

“Four out of five people when asked will donate.

“We have met the target each year.”

EB Games Port Lincoln also managed to raise additional funds for Starlight Children’s Foundation through hosting a Super Smash Bros tournament at the store in early April.

This year for Starlight Week the foundation has been aiming to raise at least $700,000 from all EB Games and Zing Pop Culture stores across Australia.
