President Sue Waite reported on projects progressed overthe past 12 months at the centre’s annual meeting last month.

She said member clubs had “gone about their business”, while the newest member club, the Men’s Shed group, had made significant steps with a slab laid for their home base.

Men’s Shed members have also been involved in various projects around the sports centre, including building a work bench for the shared clubrooms, upgrading the floor and helping to patch and recoat netball courts.

The contract for the “Work for the dole” programconcluded and most projects were completed within the contract period. Outstanding projects have been moved to the next phase.

Mrs Waite said after many meetings with club representatives and letters of support, the new phase would includeprojects at the basketball/squash stadium and courts, KNTFL league headquarters building and the hockey associationbuilding.

She said in the meantime the regular workthat had to be done consistently by member clubsto keep their areas maintained hadproceeded without any major issues.
