The North-West Thunder are braced for a challenging encounter against Dandenong at Schweppes Arenaon Saturday.
Dandenong will entertheir Tasmanian road trip with a 3-3 record, while the Thunder are 4-2 after their 14 point win over Frankston last weekend.
‘’They will be a very tough opposition, and they will probably be our biggest test to date in our three home game stretch,’’ Thomas said.
‘’We will need to be at our best.
‘’They will bring a very good team, led by (Daequon) Montreal and (Andrew) Harms.
‘’They have a strong leadership group and the fact they have been in a very good program for many seasons is what makes them strong.’’
With this in mind, Thomas said his side would need to ensure they kept ‘’getting betterwith each game’’.
‘’That goes not only against Dandenong, but the next few weeks, as we have a road trip coming up soon.
‘’I have been really pleased with the attitude of our entiregroup, and is towards not only training, game preparation and game night.
‘’If we can continue to do those sort of things, aimed at the betterment of the program, the results will come..
‘’The last couple of weeks they have come, which has been great.’’
Thomas said there was one major positive out of the victory over Frankston that gives him confidence heading into this weekend.
‘’Just that ability to get to the level that is required.
‘’We are seeing it every week, they understand the process that is in place and just to have the ability to stick to that.
‘’We have found a way to win, whether they have been close games or whether they have been games we have had pretty good control of over the four quarters.
‘’We know this is a tough league and that every week there is quality opposition.
‘’Ladder positions are secondary, like Frankston last week who are at the bottom of the ladder, but we know in that program they have quality players.
‘’We know it doesn’t take much to change a win from a loss, and we have to prepare and be up for every game.
‘’Which we will be this week.’’
The Thunder are undefeated at home this year, having beaten Ballarat, Sandringham and Frankston.
Saturday’s game isat 7.30pm.
